The International Residential Code, 2012 Edition, as published by the International Code Council including appendix chapters J & M is hereby adopted and incorporated by reference as the Residential Code of the City of South Hutchinson, Kansas; for regulating and governing the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement, repair, equipment, location, removal and demolition of detached one and two family dwellings and multiple single family dwellings (townhouses) not more than three stories in height with separate means of egress as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefore; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Residential Code on file in the office of the City of South Hutchinson, Kansas are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this Article, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in Section 2 of this Article. Such incorporation is authorized by K.S.A. 12-3009 through K.S.A. 12-3012 inclusive, and K.S.A. 12-3301 and K.S.A. 12-3302. all as amended. No fewer than three (3) copies of said International Residential Code shall be marked or stamped “Official Copy as incorporated by the code of the City of South Hutchinson, Kansas,” with all sections or portions thereof intended to be omitted or changed clearly marked to show any such omission or change and to which shall be attached a copy of this article or the adopting ordinance, and filed with the City Clerk to be open to inspection and to be available to the public at all reasonable business hours.

The following sections of the International Residential Code, 2012 Edition, are hereby amended as follows:

Section R101.1. is hereby amended to read as follows: These provisions shall be known as the Residential Code for one and two-family dwellings of South Hutchinson, Kansas and shall be cited as such and will be referred to herein as “this code.”

Section R301.2. is hereby amended to read as follows: Insert Climatic and Geographic Design Criteria on page 26 hereof.

Section P2603.5.1. is hereby amended to read as follows: Insert 12 inches.
